WDR(Wide Dynamic Range) Sensor Technology

The dynamic range of an image sensor stands for the range of  light intensity from the scene  which the image sensor can treat without the loss of information. A WDR Sensor has much wider dynamic range than normal image sensors. The following examples show what is the WDR image sensor.

When an image sensor takes the image in which very bright regions and dark regions co-exist, images shown below are:

(a) taken by a normal image sensor with short exposure time,
(b) taken by a normal image sensor with long exposure time,
(c) taken by a WDR image sensor,
